Adelina
Patti's private theatre at Craig-y-Nos Castle, with its great history
of entertaining royalty and the rich and famous, makes a magnificent
setting for wedding ceremonies and the associated formalities.
The theatre auditorium is also ideal for meetings, lectures and seminars and its capacity of up to 150 seated persons makes it a popular choice for a variety of occasions. You can find out more about Adelina Patti, the great opera diva, by clicking here |

The theatre was modelled on Drury Lane Theatre in London and was one of the first in Britain to have electric lights illuminating the stage. In addition Adelina Patti had powerful carbon arc spot lamps installed, so that when she entertained her important guests she could put on the most professional of performances. The floor of the auditorium can be raised on pulleys until level with the stage thus providing a dance floor, which would have been in regular use during the great diva's time. The theatre is now one of very few in Britain which still have their original Victorian stage machinery and drapes in working order. |
